iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba by iRobot is a basic robot vacuum that works well on both bare flooring and carpets with low pile. It has good suction and cleans all kinds of debris, but it has trouble with larger debris like sand or rice. It is capable of cleaning pet hair, but it isn't as resistant to knots as premium Roomba models such as the j7 and I6.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It has a trio of buttons on its cover: 'Clean' starts a cleaning cycle, 'Dock' puts it back into its charging station and 'Spot Clean' triggers an targeted clean. You can control it via an app on your smartphone that lets you to schedule cycles, stop/start them and adjust settings. You can also pair it with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum cleaner is slower than others, but can still be able to reach the majority of corners and crevices. It has a large bin that makes it easy to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which allow you to set the robot to avoid certain areas or stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from becoming stuck.

It's not the most effective in its price range but it's superior to other models. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694, and it's able to clean low-pile and bare carpets. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a better route. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its life and charges faster than 694.

It is also worth considering other models from the iRobot range, including the v7 or 981. They're more expensive but they are significantly better than the 694 in terms of cleaning efficiency on both low- and bare floors, use the most efficient cleaning method and have a larger dirt compartment, are quicker to charge, move more easily, and are more easy to connect with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot with a budget does a decent job on hard floors and carpets with low pile. Its combination brush reaches corners and edges and then automatically increases suction when it senses carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning embedded dirt off carpets in the middle of the pile. The IQ's tiny footprint for docks and its self-emptying feature are great features. However, if you want to alter the floor level on the map, or set no-go zones, you'll have to manually reset it to do so, which is quite an inconvenience.

The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated features, however it isn't equipped with no-go zones. They are only available on iRobot robots. Its smart-pathing system allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile mode of its carpet cleaning mode is effective but it could get caught in rug tassels.

During our tests during our tests, the IQ was capable of handling pet hair with ease, removing huge amounts of debris from bare floors and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpets, as it had a hard time reaching dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It did a good job of navigating chair legs and tight spaces as well as the base of a wooden IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on flooring that was not fully covered but it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots we test.

The IQ is a better choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge and does a better job of moving itself around obstacles. It has a mopping tool that can clean up sticky debris. On the other side, the iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement and has lower recurring costs, and can create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can continue cleaning the point it started, even if the battery runs out before it finishes. The iRobot can also be controlled using voice commands, which is a major benefit for many users.

Eufy 11S

The robotic hoovers RoboVac 11S eufy robot vacuum isn't one of the most feature-rich models, but it offers powerful cleaning power at affordable prices. It's designed for budget-conscious buyers who don't require a complex mapping system or app to control the device. This robot can last for up to an hour. It includes the remote control, cleaning tool, and AC power adapter.

The 11S is slim, elegant and has a tempered glass upper deck that resembles the brushed appearance of aluminum. It's a nice contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more industrial and utilitarian.

In our tests, the eufy 11S was extremely effective at removing larger particles and fine dust on hard floors. However, it was unable to give high and medium pile carpeting an effective deep clean. The device is prone of bumping into furniture and people in its path. However, it is able to detect obstacles with sensors. When it comes across them, it ceases to move and emits a loud beep so you can manually steer it around the obstacle and then get it back to work.

Another great feature of the eufy11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match the floor type and the level of dirt. The remote control makes it simple to direct the 11S to your desired location.

Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the room you'd like to vacuum. The eufy will spend 30 minutes intensely cleaning the area it's assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that can limit the time spent on each surface to just 20 minutes. This will extend the battery's life. By selecting this option the eufy moves in a spiral pattern taking care of edges and corners to ensure a clean.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range canister robot vacuum that is a top performer on carpet. Its performance is also great on floors that are not bare. It can remove small particles such as rice easily and doesn't lose suction performance even as its dirt bin fills. Its design that is allergy-friendly and sealed with air captures allergens to keep your family healthy. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and self-emptying dustbin, so you won't need to purchase additional filters or a separate bag for your vacuum.

It's not as powerful as pricier models, but it's ideal for fighting staining and deep cleaning. It has two front cameras which provide a live feed to your smartphone. It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It also has a big dustbin, long runtime and a quick, bump-free clean-up.

Contrary to other robots the Complete C1 can switch between the standard powerhead and the turbo head to accommodate different types of floors. The turbo head is ideal for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead can be used on floors that are unfinished and light carpets. It also features an automatic height adjustment system that allows it to adapt to different kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.

This model comes with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on hard floors and carpets of medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to move and can be used to reach difficult areas. It has five levels of surface adjustment as well as a brushroll off switch to help prevent tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll, the UtraClean Mode that will clean the same area three times, and a self emptying dustbin that you can empty by pressing a single button. Its sound level is slightly higher than other models however, its powerful 1,200-watt motor and sturdy build make it worth the extra cost.

If you're willing to pay some extra money then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a great all-around robot vacuum. It is more effective on carpets than the Classic C1. It performs better on all types of floors and is more solidly constructed, and includes an HEPA filter.
